until your grip loosens twice
there’s nothing left i can see
that isn’t making me grieve
a sense of shame
a product of dissimulation
purgatory, my only salvation
and while i feign
rose-colored glasses still remain
knowing what i know
somehow i can't face it

i read that “hope prolongs the torment in me”
the years and people have passed
but now i’m brought to my knees
when a lie is from on high
your eyes can barely see
there’s nothing left to believe
create a place to hide inside until you’re
empty, free
i found a solace in me
